Tips and Tricks
Here are a few tips and tricks you won't find the in manual...
1. For mixed sets of music, like DJ sets or Operas, where the
order of the tracks must be maintained, you have to use the Mojo's
built in sorting method to get them in the proper order. The Mojo
defaults to sorting in numerical and then alphabetical order. 2. When creating your discs, it is better NOT to use packet writing writing software (drag and drop capability), but rather burn the CD as you normally burn a music CD. Even on CDRWs, this will decrease the access time on the Mojo and will give you far more usable space on each disc. 3. When you want to load a new logo, you can not use the packet writing capabilities (via DirectCD, InCD, etc.) of your drive to do it. You absolutely MUST burn the CD as if burning a normal CD, even if you are using a CDRW. Keep in mind, you can erase a CDRW, even if it is burned using the normal burning method. 4. Because the Mojo 620 can not seek backwards through a track break (ie, the break between track 3 and 4), if you want to seek seamlessly between tracks, as is sometimes desired in mixed sets, you should Rip and Burn the source CD as ONE MP3 file. 5. Not all codecs are created equally. Some codecs used to encode to MP3 will cause MP3s to have a choppy or "skipping" sound in them. One such codec that I have confirmed with several MP3s is LAME version 3.89. The Fraunhoffer codecs have not exhibited these problems. 6. The bass enhancing feature of the Mojo 620 DOES effect the sound output via the Line Out port. Most devices do not do perform like this; they only output raw, unenhanced sound from the Line Out port. This is very important to keep in mind if you are hooking a system to the Mojo 620 via the Line Out port. |
